After weeks of planning, reassurances and Zoom calls, the moment finally arrived: James and Emily touched down in Oman, ready for their first family adventure in the Arabian Peninsula.
They stepped off the plane carrying just a flicker of uncertainty… it’s not every day you visit a completely new region.
But that feeling didn’t last long.

The wadis were greener and more tranquil.
The desert was wider, quieter and more peaceful than any picture could show.

One afternoon, while admiring the brightest pink bougainvillea they had ever seen, an Omani couple appeared at the garden gate.
Instead of being bothered, they smiled and waved the family over.
Moments later, James and Emily found themselves sharing coffee in the shade of a beautiful garden, surrounded by flowers, date palms and the gentle sound of running water from a falaj.
The locals wanted nothing in return.
Just a chat.
A moment of hospitality.
A shared human connection.
Emily later told me:
“That moment — being invited into a stranger’s garden for coffee — made us realise how safe and welcomed we felt here.”
This is Arabian hospitality at its purest.
