شوف (arabic) shoof: look! see! (english)

Wadi Aydam Dhofar Camping Sunset | Shoof Oman #014

There is nothing better than observing a sunset from a remote, wild campsite and when choosing a location in Oman, you are spoiled for choice.  You can pitch your tent more or less anywhere, so long as your chosen spot is not cultivated or restricted (such as a military site) – one of the great benefits of living in a land traditionally occupied by Bedu.

This photo was taken in Wadi Aydam, Dhofar in December 2014.  SEE if you can find somewhere special to camp overnight!

Wadi Aydam

The Desert Diva and her husband, Neil, traversed the whole of Wadi Aydam as part of their journey from Salalah. If you’d like to find out a bit more about the wadi and travelling off-road in the Dhofar region, CLICK HERE to go to that page

The Sultanate of Oman is a truly wonderful country, full of beautiful places to visit and interesting things to see.  Some tourists are content to spend their holidays within the confines of their luxurious Arabian styled 4 star hotels, and there is nothing wrong with that.  However if you get yourself out there you might find something unusual, quirky or bizarre to photograph and as a bonus, any Omanis you encounter will bowl you over with their kindness and hospitality.

I have travelled extensively throughout the Sultanate and not seen half of all there is to see. Will you follow me and شوف Oman?
